Introducing WhisperPal, private meeting notes for Mac

WhisperPal is now in public beta. It records meetings without a bot, transcribes them on your Mac and connects them to the AI tools you already use — free while in beta.

Meeting assistants have become very good at writing things down. Most of them do it the same way: a bot joins your call, the audio goes to a server, and the notes live in someone else’s cloud.

WhisperPal takes a different route. Everything starts on your Mac.

What WhisperPal does

  • Records meetings without a bot. When a call starts in Zoom, Teams, Slack, Feishu, Tencent Meeting, DingTalk or a browser, WhisperPal captures the meeting app’s audio together with your microphone.
  • Transcribes on-device. Choose Whisper, WhisperKit, Qwen3-ASR or Parakeet depending on your language and your Mac. Nothing is uploaded unless you add a cloud provider.
  • Knows who said what. Speaker recognition runs locally and remembers people across meetings.
  • Summarises with the AI you choose. Use Ollama or LM Studio for fully local summaries, or connect any OpenAI-compatible service.
  • Works with your agents. A built-in MCP server lets Claude, Cursor and ChatGPT search your meetings, with your consent for every change.
  • Dictates anywhere. Press ⇧⌘Space and talk into any text field.

Why local-first

Meetings contain the most sensitive information a company has: plans, numbers, people. Keeping recordings and transcripts on the device that captured them is the simplest way to keep them private. It also means WhisperPal works on a plane, on a restricted network and without an account.

Free during beta

Every feature is free while WhisperPal is in public beta. Download the Mac app, try it on your next call, and tell us what to improve.
